Terms of Service

Last updated: May 1, 2026. These Terms govern your access to and use of Syntex websites, portals, and services for translation and interpretation. By creating an account or placing a request, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Services

Syntex operates a marketplace connecting clients with professional linguists. We may facilitate quotes, scheduling, deliverables, messaging, invoicing through our payment partners, and video conferencing integrations where offered. Specific service levels may depend on account type (for example contract vs. non-contract) and admin-approved quotes.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts for breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, or legal requirements.

3. Data processing

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, including subprocessors: Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Zoom, and Geoapify. Clients and vendors may exercise GDPR-style rights as outlined there, including self-serve export via /api/me/export and erasure via /api/me/delete where available in the product.

4. Quotes, fees, and taxes

For non-contract flows, pricing may be quote-based and subject to admin review. You authorize charges described in approved quotes and invoices. Taxes and government charges may apply where required.

5. Cancellations and changes

Cancellations and late changes may incur fees as described in our Cancellation Policy.

6. Acceptable use

You will not misuse the platform, upload unlawful content, attempt unauthorized access, scrape the service beyond permitted use, or interfere with other users. Interpreters and translators must perform work professionally and in line with applicable ethics and confidentiality obligations communicated on a project.

7. Intellectual property

You retain rights to materials you supply. You grant Syntex and, as needed, assigned vendors a license to use those materials solely to deliver the requested services. Syntex retains rights in its software, branding, and documentation.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Except where prohibited, Syntex’s aggregate liability arising out of these Terms will be limited to amounts you paid to Syntex for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the six months before the event. These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction stated in your enterprise agreement, or otherwise the laws applicable to Syntex’s operating entity, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
